Hello all! Sorry that I haven't posted in a while, the workload was just a little overwhelming for a while.
So my household went on a retreat at a camp in Ohio. Besides the fact that the cabin had absolutely no heating and it was about 10 degrees (Fahrenheit) the entire time, it was a great!
The focus was to really dive into 3 specific virtues in our covenant: simplicity, humility, and obedience. We had talks given to us from seniors and our advisor Mrs. Ashi (an absolutely wonderful person and we're so lucky!).
The part that I really want to tell you about is when we did praise and worship. During this we had prayer teams in the adjoining rooms, and I thought you know what could it hurt to ask for prayers from my household sisters. I didn't really want to go to the side where my best friend was praying over people because I thought it'd be awkward. But of course God was like "what you ask shall be the opposite!" (because that's just how he works in my life), and I went to her and another sister. As I go in I pray for my heart to be opened so that I may learn to love. Then about a minute in a feel this slight pressure on my shoulders, but no one touched me, and I fall into the arms of my household sister and she gently lays me on the ground, I had rested in the Spirit. The proceeded to pray over me while I laid there. This is the moment I knew God really does know us individually because, He allowed me to be able tell what was going on around me and hear everything. The gift he gave me during that time was of peace, the time I spent laying there was rejuvenating in so many ways!
For those of you kinda freaked out by the thought of going completely limp, don't worry. While I was laying there it just felt like that minute before you fall asleep and you could move but at the same time you can't and you know what's happening around you it just doesn't bother you.
Honestly, the experience is nothing to be scared of! I definitely didn't think it would ever happen to me (again God saying everything is going to be the opposite of what you think), but when it did I wasn't scared. A little freaked out that it had happened, but in the same way that you'd be if Pope Francis came to your front door.
If you have any questions please let me know (writesolo@gmail.com)
Love and God Bless,
Clara
