Hello everyone!
Sorry that I haven't been very active recently, their have been a lot of things going on.
First off, Freshman year. It was AMAZING! I love Franciscan University and, if i'm able to get my grades up, I hope to get into the Nursing Program my Junior year. Normally I would be in the program this coming year, but Chemistry really kicked my butt and they said I need to retake the course in order to be eligible. So prayers would be greatly appreciated that I be able to kick it into gear and be able to make it into the program. I really feel that this is where God is calling me, it was hard to adjust to the fact that I didn't make it but through prayer and talking to a friend who is going through the same thing I feel that I am able to accept my cross.
I mentioned in my last post that I have a boyfriend, which is still true. One thing that I have realized through our relationship is that even though I've had it drilled into my head how to have a "pure relationship", it's something that is definitely easier said than done. We are both still virgins, but it's not just actions that are hard to avoid. Honestly our minds can be our worst enemies. You can be sitting 5 feet away from each other and be thinking things you really shouldn't be. I know that you've probably heard that when you're tempted the best thing you can do is pray, and I can testify that this is true. It may or may not work the first prayer you say, for me I just keep saying Hail Mary's until I feel my mind becoming clearer. The best thing about my relationship is the fact that we are honest with each other and hold each other accountable. This is my first real relationship, but that doesn't mean that what I'm saying is not true.
Know that I am always here to answer questions that you may have about the Church, or anything really (writesolo@gmail.com).
Summer is starting with a bang! I've got an internship at a hospice starting next week. I'll keep you all up to date and ask for prayers where they are needed. I hope that I can make even a small difference in these peoples lives and help them pass peacefully.
Love and God bless,

Hello Clara,
ReplyDeleteWell I have recently come across your blog and was intrigued to know you go to FUS and interested in nursing because I will be a High School Senior this Fall and I'm looking into the nursing program at FUS. The only thing is I think like you the chemistry will kill me! Any suggestions to prepare me for it? Anyways, I look forward to future posts and getting to know you. If you have a Facebook you can friend me, the name is Grace Hincapie and I live in OR.
Pax.
Hey Grace!
Deletesorry it's taken me long to reply. But honestly i'm sure you'll be amazing! Yes Chemistry is hard but Dr. Divis is a great teacher and is willing to help you with ANY problem you have. Just don't make my mistake and think that you're question is stupid or that you'll figure it out later, talk to her as soon as possible when you realize you have a question. It's a hard program and requires a lot of studying, that's also the huge problem for a lot of people, my advice; figure out as soon as possible where is the best place for you to study and block out some time every day to go there. Also don't study so much that you can't think straight. It's not healthy! take as many study breaks as you need.
I'll be living in Marian Hall (the best one ;) ) on ground floor. My doors always open if you ever feel stressed or just wana talk. But i'm also positive you'll make friends faster than you think :D
God Bless,
Clara
